Size

MATERIALS – Waxed cotton from Halley Stevensons in Dundee, Scotland, a mill that has been proofing cloth for well over a century. A wet-wax finish in a deep chocolate brown: the cotton is impregnated with wax so the surface sheds wind and light rain, with a soft sheen when new. Over time it creases, lightens where it is handled and builds a patina that records how the jacket has been worn. Lined in soft cotton fleece for extra warmth, and finished with wood buttons.

GARMENT – The Farmer Jacket in its most weatherproof form, and the warmest of the wax pair. The relaxed body of the original is paired with four patch pockets and a detachable collar, so it can be worn as an everyday work jacket or buttoned up as a proper outer layer in wind and rain. The fleece lining makes it a jacket for the coldest months, with room to layer over a shirt or knit. Wax cotton is a cloth to keep for years, and can be re-waxed when it starts to dry out.
