MATERIALS – Naturally dyed antique block-printed cloth and handwoven Kala cotton, pieced together and stitched in kantha. Kantha is a traditional running-stitch technique from Bengal, where layers of cloth are joined with rows of hand stitching to make something new from old textiles. Kala is an indigenous, rain-fed cotton from Kutch in Gujarat, grown without irrigation or pesticides. Because each vest is pieced from antique cloth, no two are the same. Finished with wooden buttons.

GARMENT – A reversible vest, cut in a simple, easy shape so the patchwork can lead. Wear it over a shirt or under a jacket for an extra layer of warmth, and turn it inside out for a second look. Made in a run of only 10 pieces, each one individual in its arrangement of cloth and stitch.
