MATERIALS – Heavy cotton duck canvas in an antique brown. Duck is one of the oldest workwear cloths: a tight, plain weave of thick cotton yarns, originally made for sails and tents, which gives it its density and strength. Ours is stonewashed after making, which softens the stiffness of new canvas, takes the edge off the colour and leaves a gentle, uneven fade across the seams and pockets. Inside, the jacket is lined in naturally rain-dyed cotton, giving a variegated, one-off interior to every piece.

GARMENT – A heavier, colder-weather version of the Farmer Jacket. The body keeps the relaxed, easy shape of the original, but the pockets are reworked into four patch pockets and a detachable collar is added. With the collar buttoned on, it closes up around the neck against the wind; with it off, the jacket goes back to a clean, simple workwear shape. Cut with room through the body and shoulders to layer over a shirt or knit, it is built to be worn hard. The canvas breaks in with wear, creasing at the elbows and pockets and shaping to the wearer over time.
