The sharp cornered spirals, printed in Kyoto, is made with all natural colours with natural finish. The material is lightweight and has a loose weave, showing its true subtleties in the light. The contemporary approach of block print and dyeing the Kala involves primitive utensils made from wood to create intense markings which fade with movement to create the symbols.
